Summary:The Garment Industry, being the second largest exporter of clothing in the Northern United States and Europe, plays a big role in the economy of the Philippines. Being such there is a need for continuous improvements in the industry to compete with the international market. One way to improve the productivity and efficiency of the industry is to adopt technology in the supply chain processes of garment companies. However due several factors, these companies opt not to adopt technology in their supply chain. This study attempts show the possible relationships of the factors that hinders garment firms to adopt technology in their Supply Chain Management. Furthermore it would also try to show that technology adoption can create benefits for these garment firms. The study implemented a quantitative type of survey to different garment manufacturing companies to be able to get data for its study. It then used the Somers'd statistical test to analyze the data. The study was able to prove that there is a correlation between the cost of the technology and the decision of the company to adopt technology. Moreover, it was able to prove that there is relationship between the adoption of technology and the productivity and efficiency of the supply chain of the garment firm. This study will contribute to future research on similar topics.
