The filling of coconut cooking oil into 5-gallon/17-kg cans is one such process that has not been automated locally. The group decided to design and construct an automated packaging system for a local manufacturer. The group had to do this at a low cost compared to imported machines, as well as meet targets for production rate with little or no wastage of product.
