Description
Summary:The objective of the thesis is about building a low-cost roller coaster motion simulator utilizing Open Dynamics Engine (ODE). The motion simulator utilizes hardware design by powering it using a servomotor coupled with a sprocket and chain design responsible for enhancing the torque. Moreover software programming was applied in the use of the Open Dynamics Engine and also for the assigning of commands for the motion simulator. The combination of high-level languages such as Visual C++ and Visual Basic were the key components for the software programming. The various components in the hardware design and software programming of the project made possible the success of this low-cost simulator. We strongly believe that the project could open a new gateway for the rise of such low-cost simulators in the entertainment and gaming industry.
