Description
Summary:As the Internet is gaining popularity, an increasing number of organizations are getting online and offering services and products online. The Internet provides a channel for the delivery of products and services to a large number of customers. Services that are available online include online publishing, edutainment, distance learning, insurance, healthcare, real estate, etc. The advances in information technology and the growing number of Internet users provide an opportunity to offer improved services to accommodation seekers. The purpose of this study is to design and develop an online accommodation system. The primary target end-users are owners of property or accommodation who want to rent out their property and accommodation seekers who need accommodation. This would comprise both students and non-students. The system being generic means that it could practically be used by any accommodation seeker provided there is an access to the Internet. The system would enable landlords or property owners to advertise property for sale, rent, etc. and students or accommodation seekers can browse or search for accommodation that is suitable for them. Students looking for roommates or co-renters could also post up information for anybody to view and respond to. The web makes it possible for landlords to supply as much information about the accommodation, which would aid accommodation seekers in making their choice of accommodation.
