Description
Summary:The absolute magnetic susceptibility profile as a function of temperature is used to characterize the magnetic properties of high temperature superconductors. In this study the design and fabrication of a magnetic susceptibility measurement system for characterization of high temperature superconductors through the use of local facilities and simple materials is demonstrated and tested. The magnetic susceptibility profile was extracted from the induction voltages acquired independently through the use of a data acquisition system and computer program specially designed for this purpose. Bulk BSCCO high temperature superconductors were used to test and evaluate the system. The formula for susceptibilities corresponding to the relationships of inductance and its equivalent magnetic field was used in the determination of superconducting properties (i.e. critical temperature) for BSCCO high temperature superconductors. Moreover, this study spearheads and exploits the use of wavelet analysis in superconductor characterization.
