The study presents the analytical, numerical and experimental results of the synchronization of identical chaotic Liu-Chen systems. The synchronized Liu-Chen systems were applied to create a two-channel communication system where a chaotic masking signal is added to the information signal at the transmitter and, at the receiver, the masking signal is regenerated and subtracted from the received signal to recover the information. The two-channel scheme was used wherein the synchronizing signal and the information signal were transmitted at separate channels. It is believed that the study is the first to synchronize identical Liu-Chen systems and the first to implement electronically the two-channel scheme. The synchronized Liu-Chen systems exhibit identical or marginalized in-phase synchronization or anti-phase synchronization depending on the initial conditions of the drive and response systems. The information signal in the form of sinusoidal wave, square wave and triangular wave with a frequency of 30 Hz and of varying amplitudes were used in the study. Experiments showed that the information signal can only be recovered at the receiver when the synchronized Liu-Chen systems were exhibiting in phase synchronization. The quality of the recovered information signal depends on the amplitude of the transmitted information signal. Thus, the two-channel communication system using synchronized Liu-Chen systems could be used to transmit and receive information signal. 2005-01-01T08:00:00Z text application/pdf https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_masteral/3329 https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/context/etd_masteral/article/10167/viewcontent/CDTG003964_P.pdf Master's Theses English Animo Repository Chaotic behavior in systems Chaotic synchronization System theory Systems and Communications
