Summary: | This study identified the desired and actual level of teacher participation in decision-making in the Senior High School of Yayasan Salib Suci, West Java, Indonesia. The study made use of two instruments in collecting the data and variables that were used in the investigation of the topic. These were the Personal Profile Questionnaire and the Teachers Participation in School Decision-Making Process Questionnaire. The Personal Profile questionnaire provided the data on the demographic variables of the teachers. The questionnaire on Teachers participation in School Decision-Making Process provided the data on the extent of Teachers participation in School Decision-Making Process. A total of 79 respondents participated in the quantitative study. A qualitative study was used to augment and enrich the results of the quantitative study. A total of 46 respondents were interviewed by the researcher. The study revealed that teachers see learning instruction and teacher development as very closely interrelated. The administrators and teachers agree on the importance of ensuring quality instruction and learning. There appear to be hesitance on the part of the top administrators in involving teachers participation in the matter of finance. Administrators, though support the teachers concern in involving parents in solving student problems in academic problems. The study recommended, among others, that the top administrator of Yayasan Salib Suci employ strategic planning approaches toward the development of a culture of trust, collegiality, and co responsibility. |
