The variables were studied at three different points of marital duration, namely 1: 0 9 years of marriage, 2: 10 19 years of marriage and 3: 20 34 years of marriage. The participants were 107 married women from Metro Manila who were, at the time of data collection, residing together with their husbands in the same house, both Catholic in religious faith and married in the Catholic Church. Data were collected through 4 research instruments, of which two are standardized and two researcher made. The cognitive component of SWB was measured using the standardized scale developed by Ed Diener and his colleagues (1985): Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLC). The affective component of SWB was measured using the standardized tool developed by Watson, Clark and Tellegen (1988): Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS). The level of wives perception of their husbands religious faith and wives own religious faith were measured using the researcher made instruments: Religious Faith Perception Inventory W & H (RFPI W & H). Mean and standard deviation of the raw scores were computed and treated with the statistical procedure of Independent Samples test in order to observe the variance of wives SWB and their perception of the level of their husbands religious faith at the three marital duration dummies. The statistical analysis of Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient was used to find out the relationship between wives SWB and their perception of the level of their husbands religious faith, and the relationship vi between wives subjective wellbeing and wives own religious faith. Stepwise analysis of Multiple Regression was applied to find out the best predictor variable of wives life satisfaction from among the six components of wives perceived religious faith of their husbands. The findings of the study show that Filipino wives subjective wellbeing (life satisfaction, positive affect and negative affect) and their perception of the level of their husbands religious faith vary considerably over the course of marriage. There exists a statistically very significant and high linear relationship between wives subjective wellbeing and their perception of the level of their husbands religious faith. Wives perception of the level of their husbands religious influence (a sound moral life characterized by loving attitudes) was found the best predictor variable of wives life satisfaction. However, among the three components of wives subjective wellbeing, only life satisfaction and positive affect were found correlated to their own religious faith wives negative affect was found not associated with their own religious faith. Based on these findings and the review of related literature, several implications for counseling and some recommendations for future research and counseling were forwarded. 2007-01-01T08:00:00Z text application/pdf https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_masteral/3514 https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/context/etd_masteral/article/10352/viewcontent/CDTG004290_P.pdf Master's Theses English Animo Repository Husband and wife Marriage -- Religious aspects-- Christianity.
