A Windows-based computer simulation software will create an electronic database for active and passive equipment used in cable TV outside plant design and automate the following: - The characterization of passive and active equipment that includes input and output signal level, signal gain or loss, power consumption, computed location, and quantities. - The characterization of power supply equipment such as current and voltage rating. - Individual and system performance computation of active equipment such as carrier to noise ratio, carrier to cross modulation, carrier to composite second order distortion, and carrier to composite triple beat.
