The study's key informants were 16 married men with a recurrent sexual problems in the past 12 months, and selected by purposive sampling. Their ages ranged from 2661 years old. All had formal education, and are working in varied occupations and earn about 11,900/month on the average. They have been married for an average of 13 years, and have an average of two children. Findings showed that of the 16 informants, half had experienced one sexual problem while the other half had two sexual problems. Among the informants who had two sexual problems, premature ejaculation and loss of sexual desire were the most mentioned while those having one sexual problem premature ejaculation was the most prevalent. Most informants had experienced their sexual problems after marriage. Majority also considered their erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation and loss of sexual desire a problem due to unsatisfactory changes on the behavior of their spouses. In most cases, their problems were discussed with spouses, and the spouses were understanding of their situation. The perceived causes of the informants sexual problems were biophysical, psychological, economic, familial, sexual, and work related in nature. The most telling detrimental effect was on their masculinity, since the problems caused them to lose face with spouses. The most common means to address sexual problems were either to undergo self treatment like doing exercises regularly and taking vitamins or to ignore the problems. Informants were embarrassed to seek professional help. Age tended to affect the nature of informants sexual problems as younger men reported mostly premature ejaculation while older men reported erectile dysfunction and loss of sexual desire. 2006-01-01T08:00:00Z text application/pdf https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_masteral/3556 https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/context/etd_masteral/article/10394/viewcontent/CDTG004468_P.pdf Master's Theses English Animo Repository Sexual problems Married men--Western Mindanao--Philippines Married men Other Social and Behavioral Sciences
