This study focused on the development and evaluation of a module on capacitors suited for both students and physics teachers especially those who are not major of physics. The module was developed based on the researcher's strong belief that to ensure quality science instruction, we need competent teachers not only on teaching skills but on technical know-how of the the subject as well. The first phase of the study discussed the development of the module which composed of instructional objectives, modular instruction of the subject matter, check up questions, answer key, lesson plans, and student activity sheets. The second phase involved the validation and qualitative evaluation of the module. The three experts did the validation from Bicol University, Camarines Sur State Agricultural College, and De La Salle University. Furthermore, the module was evaluated by five non-physics majors who are teaching physics in five secondary schools in the division of Albay. The results of the evaluation were carefully analyzed and interpreted using the mean and standard deviation. Analysis of the results indicates that both the experts and the non-physics major teachers showed favorable perception on the developed module. Based on the findings of the study, the researcher recommends the use of modules for upgrading the competencies of teachers without undergoing rigid and pressured in-service training programs. Furthermore, results of this study also indicate that a module is an effective tool for students' development. 2000-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_masteral/3622 Master's Theses English Animo Repository Capacitors--Study and teaching--Philippines |
