Technology education must be structured in such a way that it nurtures a transformative process of converting the student into a lifelong learner capable of integrating critical thinking, technical skill, and right attitude to make a positive difference. The study proposed a conceptual framework for constructivist technology education (CTE) in the basic education in Metro Manila. It is grounded primarily on the principles of constructivism suggested by Brooks and Brooks (1993) and Information Technology pedagogical practices by Hong Kong SITES (2003). It strongly emphasizes the theoretical frameworks of social constructivism and constructivist epistemology by Vygotsky and Piaget that will promote reflection, collaborative learning, and real-life problem solving among others. It proposes that CTE model be implemented as an alternative to the traditional direct instruction method. The main method of research was multiple-case analysis of two selected private schools thru the data gathering processes of survey, interview, and documents analysis. Content analyses were used in analyzing the related literatures. Phenomenographic interpretations were also used to support the qualitative analysis of the activities including interviews and documents analysis. Significant findings of the study include but not limited to problem solving pedagogy, continuous training, and curriculum integration. This study aimed to benefit the Filipino youth by paving the road for them to receive quality technology education to help our national development thru innovative technology contributions in the future. 2008-01-01T08:00:00Z text application/pdf https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_masteral/3727 https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/context/etd_masteral/article/10565/viewcontent/CDTG004471_P.pdf Master's Theses English Animo Repository Educational technology--Philippines--Metro Manila Constructivism (Education)--Philippines--Manila Educational Technology
