Recombination induced hypergraphs and the asymmetry of configuration space induced by unequal crossover

Two principal sources of variation are usually accounted for in evolution: mutation and recombination. Because of the inherent differences of these two concepts it is assumed that they are qualitatively two different ways of exploring the genotype space. A method of constructing recombination spaces...

Because of the inherent differences of these two concepts it is assumed that they are qualitatively two different ways of exploring the genotype space. A method of constructing recombination spaces is developed, along with its topological features (specifically the concept of neighborhood). The resulting Hypergraph is then analyzed and it is demonstrated that there exists a case where an isomorphism exists between the recombination space and the point mutation space. It is explored further- more that there exists a process where no genetic configuration space closure exits. This is the process of gene duplication by means of unequal crossover. The impact of this more recent finding is then applied to all the observations explored in constructing the recombination spaces. 2009-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_masteral/3786 Master's Theses English Animo Repository
