De La Salle University (DLSU) will maintain its competitive edge in the education industry by capitalizing on its reputation as a leader in higher education in the country. To attain its vision of becoming a world class Catholic institution actively leading in the Asia-Pacific arena of economic prosperity, national development and social transformation , the University should pursue a FOCUS strategy, serving its target market more efficiently and more effectively than its direct competitors. The University can do this by striving to achieve a cost leadership position relative to the other members of its strategic group by exploiting the synergy and efficiencies derived from the size of the DLSU System. The Corporate strategies the University should adopt are as follows: (1) Consolidate the gains of the DLSU System (2) Expand geographical scope (3) Sustain investments in information technology (4) Expand international networks. In support of the stated corporate strategies, the University should implement, using the 7-S Framework, functional strategies in the following areas: (1) Human resources development (2) Marketing (3) Finance (4) Institutional linkages These strategies were formulated using Michael Porter's framework for competitive strategy which took into consideration the University's strengths, weaknesses, and competitive advantage, as well as the opportunities offered, and threats posed, by the external environment. 1998-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_masteral/3946 Master's Theses English Animo Repository Universities and colleges--Philippines De La Salle University
