Description
Summary:The Philippine telecommunications industry is regarded as one of the strongest performers in the economy today. It is also recognized as one of the industries where government efforts to introduce competition succeeded. For many years, the industry languished due to the absence of competition. Six years into its vision to venture into state-of-the-art telephone services, Globe Telecom - strongly led by Ayala Corporation and Singapore Telecom International - has since evolved into a major provider of world-class products and services. This paper focuses on the two (2) main products of Globe Telecom, namely: Globelines (landline) and Handyphone (cellular). It will study the state of the telecommunications industry today and the strategies employed by the company in order to maintain its leadership in the industry. Financial highlights will also be provided. Company strategies will be analyzed using the value disciplines framework. These strategies will also be analyzed based on current conditions. Also, strategies have been proposed in order to help the company achieve its mission and vision.
