Lourdes, RVM This study surveys the vocational interest of a group of high school senior girls. The study relates their vocational interest with mental ability and personal and social adjustments. The investigation was limited to the study of 50 high school senior girls of St. Mary's Academy in Meycauayan, Bulacan in school year 1966-1967. Information for each subject was obtained from three different tests, namely: 1. The Otis Self-Administering Test of Mental Ability, Higher Examination, Form A 2. Occupational Interest Inventory 3. California Test of Personality, Secondary Level. The study employed the correlation method of research. Pearson Product-Moment technique was used for solving the coefficient of correlation between the paired sets of data and coefficient of multiple correlation was also computed to measure the strength of relationship between two or more variables taken together. From the findings of the study, the following conclusions were made: 1. One's vocational interest does not generally correlate with mental ability. 2. Findings on the relationship between the subjects' vocational interest and personal and social adjustment seemed to reflect that the degree and type of adjustments hardly distinguished between the interest patterns of the group. 3. The subjects' mental ability seemed to have no relationship whatsoever upon their personal and social adjustment as shown by the negligible correlation. 4. Personal adjustment is substantially correlated with social adjustment. 5. Little is accounted for by whatever is measured by I.Q. and Personal and Social Adjustments. 6. The low correlation between the mental ability and their low scores for vocational interests would indicate an urgent need on the part of these students for vocational guidance to enable them to make wise vocational choices on the basis of information as to their mental ability and interest. 1967-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_masteral/4043 Master's Theses English Animo Repository Vocational interest
