Chemical constituents of a commercial green tea

The dichloromethane extract of a commercial green tea afforded a proposed new pyran trimer (1) and three known antioxidants: spinasterol, lutein, and b-amyrin linoleate. The structure of 1 was elucidated by extensive 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy and confirmed by mass spectrometry. The known compounds...

The structure of 1 was elucidated by extensive 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy and confirmed by mass spectrometry. The known compounds were identified by comparison of their 13C NMR data with those reported in the literature. Compound 1 exhibited low antibacterial activities against Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Staphylococcus aureus and low antifungal activities against Candida albicans and Trichophyton mentagrophytes. Cytotoxicity test using MTT assay indicated that 1 was non-cytotoxic against a colon carcinoma (HCT116). 2012-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_masteral/4114 Master's Theses English Animo Repository
