It will involve adaptation of the systematic procedures in test development. It will include the following five stages: planning, item writing, item-tryouts, item analysis, and item-validation. It will also involve consultation with people specializing on the subject test areas and modification of items from other standardized psychological test materials available in the educational testing market. Sample population will be composed of 200 incoming first year students and transfer students seeking admission for first year high school to the Philippine Academy of Sakya. The constructed test items will be administered to the respondents scheduled per class and two classes per day in June 2001. The time allotment for Part I of the test will be 25 minutes, and 40 minutes for the second part.Data will be encoded through the SPSS program item analysis. Item discrimination and difficulty indexes will be processed through the software program of SPSS. Frequencies and percentages will be used to interpret the data gathered.
The result and discussion of the study will include test specification from the pool of items that will result from the pre-test, item analysis based on the results of the SPSS computer program, test assembly, and the reliability and validity of the instrument will be established after the final form will be normed. |
