Description
Summary:This study aims to compare the delegated functions of secondary school principals in three Catholic schools in the Diocese of Laoag from a theoretical model of delegation, after which a model organizational structure with delegated functions of the principal of Saint James Academy, Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte is proposed. Mentioned in this study were the comparison of the extent of delegation among the three schools against the model, the areas in which each differs from the model and the tasks which were centralized. A summary and recommendations were given to improve the management of the three schools through delegation or sharing responsibility. Then, to facilitate and improve delegation of responsibility, a proposed organizational structure for St. James Academy is presented in this paper. It shows the high schools main lines of authority with a structured chart to give a visual representation of the manner in which responsibility and authority are delegated, and a job description of the high school staff spelled out to show the director-principal-teachers-staff relationships.
