This study aims to develop a functional model of delegation for the secondary high schools in North Cotabato, particularly for the four Catholic high schools under study. It seeks to give light on the specific concerns : 1) What are the primary functions of a high school principal as a chief executive? 2) In which areas should the principal exercise proper delegation of authority? 3) When should a principal practice the act of delegation, non-delegation, or the participative act of management? 4) To what extent have the principals of the four Catholic schools under study exercise delegation in terms of planning, decision-making, reporting and supervision? What are their strengths and weaknesses? 5) What specific organizational structure is more functional for an efficient and effective management of NDMG? 6) How can the major functions of the different key positions in the school organizational structure be best delineated? The study is purely qualitative. It made use of readings, personal experiences and a survey questionnaire to gather, classify, interpret and answer the six problems posted in this study. The information gathered then was the basis of analysis and comparison of the four schools against the developed functional model of delegation, which confines its discussion on the selected functions of the principal, classified into four categories : planning, decision-making, reporting and supervision, and of the proposed organizational structure recommended by the writer. 1978-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_masteral/4318 Master's Theses English Animo Repository School management and organization
