Description
Summary:Intel Technology Philippines Inc was founded in 1974 as assembly/test manufacturing site for Intel Corporation. As a subsidiary, Intel Technology Philippines Inc. (ITPI) provide assembly/test processing services to Intel Corporation and other Intel entities for its semiconductor product lines like microprocessors, chipsets, communications, and flash memory. Intel, the countrys first and largest multinational company has consistently been the top exporter in the Philippines, tax payer, and has established positive reputation in Corporate Social responsibility. As of 2006, ITPIs assets amounted to $555 million and $425 million in revenue. ITPI manufacturers chips for microprocessor (used to power the computers), network communications, chipsets, (direct instruction to the processors), and flash memory (used in mobile phones). The company operates in a Virtual Factory (VF) setting using the Copy Exactly! (CE!) philosophy along with other A/T manufacturing sites located in China, Costa Rica, and Malaysia. In 2005, Intel has proven again its high volume manufacturing capability by shipping the largest per factory and per platform volume. ITPI approximately shipped 30% of the VF volume for CPU, 60% for Flash, 60% for Chipsets Southbridge, and 20% for Netcomm. Combined Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) in the semiconductor industry is projected to be between 5 to 10 percent until 2010 which will be used in this paper for the financial projection.
