Meanwhile, project is a temporary endeavour undertaken to create a unique product or service. This paper presents action research which is theory in action in the context of a project where I am the central actor. In this insider action research, I addressed the issue regarding non-dissemination of timely information to distributors on out of stock incidences. The objective of this is to provide distributors with relevant and timely information through short messaging service (SMS) of retailers who hit or are near out of stock. The goal is to proactively equip distributors with the information which will help them in making day to day decisions. But before realizing the goal of the main issue, the related issue regarding dysfunctional knowledge transfer within the project team is also addressed. The objective of this is to properly relay the project requirements to the project team with the goal of transferring properly the knowledge in order to correctly reengineer the product/service which is the automatic SMS alerts sent to distributors. Lastly, it also addresses the issue regarding dysfunctional knowledge sharing to other project teams which is beneficial for long run success. The goal of this is promoting online collaboration of the knowledge gained from different projects in order to lessen technical fixes and manage resources. After sessions, observations, discussions, documentations and efforts of collaboration with the project team and stakeholders, the issue was constructed and various interventions were applied. Interventions like mini-workout sessions, brainstorming sessions, parallel structures, and knowledge management were used. As a result, product proposal and solutions requirements documents was crafted which became the central input to properly reengineer the project. Through the series of meetings done, I observed that the project team was curious but at the same time receptive of the knowledge being cascaded to them. Through the reengineering intervention, the distributors in the pilot run were able to receive the SMS alerts as expected. As a result, the project team was able to successfully reengineer the project. Meanwhile, the initial post project evaluation showed that less than thirty percent of the retailers who hit out of stock were served by the distributors after the SMS alerts were received. However, results from interviews conducted to the affected distributors showed that there were other factors like retailer capital constraints, capped DSP capital, and others which hamper the reduction of out of stock incidences. In this study, I found out that it is important that to expand my research on theoretical concepts relating to project knowledge management. This research also reaffirms that the ultimate goal of information dissemination is utlization.
