Summary: | Technical Education and Skills Development Authority - Aparri School of Arts and Trade (TESDA-ASAT) is a training center or school dedicated for the youth who are willing to commission their lives to filling the technology gap in our industry today. It has a total of 59 employees 56 are regular employees, two (2) are probationary employees, and one (1) is a contractual employee. Salary of an employee is based on employment status (mentioned above) and position. They have been planning to computerize their attendance records and payroll system in order to speed up processing of data like retrieving of data, computation of employees' payroll and generation of necessary reports. And computerization of personnel records (201 file) is also being considered. Their present system for payroll and attendance is a manual one. A project is proposed to computerized their system that will integrate attendance, payroll and 201-file (HR) records so that retrieval and processing of data and generation of reports will improve or will be faster. The project is a daily-time-recording (attendance) and payroll system. It was developed using PowerBuilder programming tool as the front-end and Microsoft Access as its database therefore its backend. It compromises of five modules namely attendance, 201-file (HR), payroll, management and employee. Evolutionary prototype was the methodology used for the project. This minimized and misunderstanding of processes between the developer and the users because a prototype is shown to the user wherein the user can verify if the processes are correct and accurate, and the project will be shown to the user as development process goes on for verification and to minimize errors of business processes. In conclusion, based on the test results, the system addresses the company's problems in computation of payroll and generation of needed reports and many other problems in payroll, attendance and personnel records. It can compute and generate reports accurately in less than five seconds. And can readily update personnel records and can minimize buddy-punching. |
