Description
Summary:Excellence in business management is and should not be limited within the walls of an educational institution, nor within the confines of the corporate arena. It should also be evident in nonprofit organizations that heavily rely on the passion and talent of its people who are mostly volunteers. This Integrated Action Research (IAR) paper showed how an operational issue of the lack of equipment monitoring procedures within the Pag-ibig Singles, a charismatic Catholic community was effectively solved using methodologies learned from action research. I, the researcher, together with my co-members in Pag-ibig Singles, developed and adopted a proper tracking system for the equipment we regularly use in prayer meetings. The conceptual framework used was the COSO internal control integrated framework, while the methods of inquiry employed are group meetings and one-on-one conversations. Reflections throughout the research were recorded using Scheins ORJI model. This action research ultimately responds to the vision of the Ramon V. del Rosario College of Business in De La Salle University for graduates to become professionals who are technically competent, humanistic, socially responsible and sustainability- oriented business managers.
