Summary: | This action research intends to address the evident and recurring occurrences of late provision of deliverables which are financial and management reports of the departments in Finance Division. Presently, this issue affects the performance standing of the whole division and the operational and strategic decisions made by management. Collaboration with the Finance Action Research Team and the Senior Personnel of the division was executed through meetings, discussions, casual queries, interviews, learning session and workshop in the various phases of construction, planning, implementing and evaluating action of the action research cycles.
It was discovered that there are various issues related to the late submission of deliverables of the division. A research team consisting of the Department Heads was formed to explore the issues and come up with interventions to improve the current state of having late deliverables to move to a desired state of having on-time if not early submitted deliverables. Various tools of analysis such as the 5 Whys and Force Field with power of collaboration helped the team to determine interventions to address the said issue. Theories on resistance and approaches in managing them were employed to aid in the implementation of change. As an overall guide, Lewin's Change Model directed the activities to help the change to be successful. The outcome of these interventions produced positive results. |
