This study assessed the effects of role overload and role distress on the perceived quality of life of the caregivers of abandoned, orphaned, abused, exploited, neglected, and special children in child-rearing institutions in Metro Manila in relation with the characteristics of the caregivers. It specifically sought to know the personal and work-related characteristics of the caregivers their level of role overload their level of role distress their perceived quality of life, including its domains namely physical health, psychological health, social health and living conditions the relationship between their characteristics and their level of role overload the relationship between their characteristics and their level of role distress the relationship between their level of role overload and their perceived quality of life and the relationship between their level of role distress and their perceived quality of life.
