Description
Summary:The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), being the central body of having responsibility over supervision of banks, trust companies, business and other sectors in the Philippines with regards to monetary operations, keeps under review the effectiveness of various monetary and stability reports and tools to influence policy making. A vast number of publications on the central banks reporting repository have been provided to the public for consumption on its official page. The Monetary and Stability sub sector alone publishes 20 regular publications, 6 statistical series on monetary and financial and external variables, 5 financial market reports- each published monthly, quarterly, and/annually. As much as transparency is evident, mere collection and consolidation of these reports published individually are no longer sufficient as BSP aims to facilitate a better understanding of its mandatory financial reporting in order to give the monetary body more flexibility to make sense out of all the information seeking which data is most critical and to allow complete understanding of the reports trends and behaviors such that they are able to extrapolate analytic interferences to address supervisory issues surrounding these. This research paper aims to formulate a business visualization framework to aid BSP in this purpose. Implications include that business visualization techniques and technology can be used as a focus innovation to understand and address the reporting communication gaps between BSP and its surrounding economic stakeholders such as local/rural banks, private sectors, and even the public. Evaluation utilization will be the governing principle on the design of the reporting framework in proving that gathering and summarizing of final reports should not be the end process but moreover, the assessment of existing evaluations against existing standard reporting and its translation to visual dashboard should also be optimized in order to support the boards decision making on its development of policies, standards or guidelines in a way all stakeholders can understand and likewise, influence to their respective strategy and decision making. Truly, enterprise collaboration between IT and Finance will drive digital transformation, especially on the fundamental character of the country’s central bank in the future.
