Description
Summary:The main objective in this study was to minimize inventory investment by increasing the pace with which inventory is sold as the slow moving items tie up the company's cash in the stored goods which could be used for other purposes. One way of addressing this issue was to evaluate the current distribution channels the company adopts. The new discoveries and inventions through the use of the Internet will never cease to amaze us so much so that it can reach anyone anywhere by bringing the retail to market to your desktop browser. Through various brainstorming and discussion sessions with the general manager and one of the senior staff members one of the solutions to this issue was to try and put up the items for sale on Lazada, an E-commerce website with its Philippine branch as it had been gaining a lot of popularity in the previous years. This project had benefited both the researcher and Kitchen Charm Marketing as in itself the topic is engaging and very challenging as it would not only dispose slow-moving items but also in effect has provided the business with another channel of distribution. Another benefit of conducting this action research was that the company's management was able to see shortcomings in the way their manpower was being deployed and thus the need for a little improvement on that matter. This enabled the company's management to act on the issue of manpower deployment specifically for the additional tasks that came with adding a new channel of distribution to the company's operations.
