Using the action research approach by Coghlan & Brannick (2014), we collaboratively identified that the lack of policies and procedures result in slow processing of requests for laptops and related items . A policy, as defined by Taurasi (2015) is a course of actions, rules or principles adopted by an organization to govern, direct and enforce actions and business functions(p.1). Well-written policies when communicated properly give multiple benefits to an organization. Effective policies and procedures contribute to efficiency by providing standards, uniformity, ownership and accountability (Curd, 2013). Systematic use of Andersons Policy Process Cycle framework supported by the closed loop communication model by George Kolb (2015) helped us come up with a formal Laptop policy which we communicated and implemented to support our objective of improving turnaround time for processing requests which in turn could improving internal customer satisfaction and also providing clear guidelines to minimize errors in ordering and issuance of laptops. 2018-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_masteral/5487 Master's Theses English Animo Repository Industrial procurement Industrial management Communication in organizations |
