Description
Summary:In this action research project, I dealt with the issue of having a four-week long process on onboarding program of new hires of Payment Department. I aimed to streamline the onboarding training program from four (4) weeks to two (2) weeks or ten business days upon the date hired until the new hires are transition to Start-up Team (SUT). Overall, the goal is to improve the productivity of new hires of Payment Department before they are transitioned to SUT. To realize our objectives and goals, I used various methods in gathering information needed using the first-person, second-person and third-person inquiries. I utilized the use of Data triangulations to corroborate and validate the information to gain in-depth understanding on the issue from surveys, evaluation of monitoring files, one-in-one discussion and informal and formal group discussions. I also adopted Onboarding Workforce Maximization Design Model and Kotters 8 Step Change Model to manage the process improvement and change process of the project from construction to evaluation. In the first cycle, the Onboarding Team (OBT) members implemented (1) creation of EMAC Checklist for Managers, (2) Delegation of tasks for each OBT members, and (3) Scheduling the date and trainers for instructor led in advance. The result on the first cycle led OBT to the second cycle wherein the interventions implemented were (1) Inclusion of Standard Operating Procedure Global Administrative and (2) Recruitment of Additional Trainers from Senior Payment Coordinators. Throughout the action research project, I learned the value of collaboration and teamwork, I improved my communication and leadership skills in forming change in my organization, I demonstrated the Expected Las Sallian Graduate Attributes and emerged with the La Sallian Code of Ethics of investing in developing myself and others, helping the management profession continue to advance and create sustainable and inclusive prosperity; and promote a humane and enabling work community within my organization.
