Summary:The DOH was one of the first National Government Agencies (NGA) in the Philippines that decided to adopt/implement the Open Government Data (OGD). In 2014, this concept was introduced by the Government of the Republic of the Philippines (GRP) to observe the value of good governance through proper disclosure of pertinent information to the public, ensuring the citizens access to information on government affairs, and effectively communicating to the public as part of the country's commitment to the Open Government Partnership (OGP). Drawing upon this background, this study primarily aims to identify the different determinants that influenced the decision of officers and/or employees of DOH to adopt/implement OGD. To attain this objective, this research used exploratory case study method which employed fieldwork interviews with different key informants (i.e., officers, employees) as well as document review regarding the adoption/implementation of OGD (i.e., department orders, administrative orders) in the offices and/or bureaus of DOH. This research also utilized an inductive approach as limited number of theoretical framework could support the abovementioned objective. Drawing upon this background, this study primarily aims to identify the different determinants that influenced the decision of officers and/or employees of DOH to adopt/implement OGD. To attain this objective, this research used exploratory case study method which employed fieldwork interviews with different key informants (i.e., officers, employees) as well as document review regarding the adoption/implementation of OGD (i.e., department orders, administrative orders) in the offices and/or bureaus of DOH. This research also utilized an inductive approach as limited number of theoretical framework could support the abovementioned objective. It was discovered that the said government institution promptly adopted/implemented OGD as these determinants (a) urged different offices and/or bureaus in DOH to comply with the directive of GRP, (b) provide adequate resources (i.e., capital, human), (c) give ease to adoption/implementation, and (d) endow clear vision to properly adopt/implement the concept of OGD.
