In the Philippines there are only few researches conducted that focused on preschool assessment. At present, the legislative bills pertaining to preschool education is still in the course of being approved in the Philippine Congress. This descriptive analysis study looked into the assessment system of selected early childhood education programs in the country. The researcher used documentary analysis and interview in collecting information regarding the assessment system of the selected preschools. In the analysis, the data gathered were described and analyzed based on the standard purposes and components of an authentic assessment through literature review. The researcher presented the commonalities and differences in the assessment system of each school. The results also indicate that although there are a lot of commonalities in the assessment of schools, still, every school has its unique and distinctive way of assessing young children such as home visit for assessment purposes and various methods of eliciting responses from children. The data gathered in the study reflects that school administrators, teachers and parents are starting to recognize authentic assessment method. This is an indication that it is feasible for preschools in our country to redefine their assessment system and adopt an authentic assessment system. It is also an indication that the success of the system relies on the collaborative effort of the schools and families. 2007-11-07T08:00:00Z text application/pdf https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_masteral/6593 https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/context/etd_masteral/article/12797/viewcontent/CDTG004314_P.pdf Master's Theses English Animo Repository Preschool children—Rating of Preschool tests Education, Preschool——Evaluation Early Childhood Education
