Sexual harassment in small businesses is understudied. Because certain characteristics of typical small businesses make such firms particularly vulnerable to sexual harassments claims, a study of this nature is imperative. This thesis focused on small-scale restaurant and hotel businesses in Metro Manila. The results of the surveys conducted support the hypotheses laid down in this study, to wit: (1) That there is low level of awareness of the existing Anti-Sexual Harassment Law among employees in small-scale businesses; (2) That there is low level of compliance among small-scale business with the law; (3) That infrastructure and resources necessary to address sexual harassment cases within the establishments studied are not available; (4) Psycho-social factors are not addressed; and (5) That there is difficulty in implementing the existing law due its limitations and imperfections. This thesis provides recommendations to address the above findings, and includes a proposed Implementing Rules and Regulations that shall serve as an establishment’s guidelines in developing and establishing its own set of anti-sexual harassment policies most applicable to the nature of their business. 2009-03-01T08:00:00Z text application/pdf https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_masteral/6603 https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/context/etd_masteral/article/12845/viewcontent/CDTG004413_P.pdf Master's Theses English Animo Repository Sexual harassment—Philippines Sexual harassment—Law and legislation—Philippines Labor and Employment Law Sexuality and the Law |
