Tourism
Providers.
Most
of
which
are
located
in
Metro
Manila.
The
Philippines
has
been
growing
as
a
destination
for
medical
tourism.
The
US
Medical
Tourism
Association
magazine
reported
that
this
services
sub‐sector
grew
8.0%
in
2007. As
the
Philippine
government
and
the
general
public
have
increasingly
come
to
demand
more
and
more
openness
about
health
care
and
its
delivery,
including
and
especially
hospital
quality
and
safety
and
the
clinical
performance
of
doctors,
these
accreditation
systems
should
generally
be
adapted
in
order
to
fulfill
this
extended
role. This
research
have
undergone
a
combination
of
approaches
dealing
with
the
legal
aspect
(e.g.
developing
a
system
of
international
accreditation)
and
the
business
or
economic
aspect
(e.g.
comparison
of
actual
number
of
medical
tourists
of
healthcare
provider
before
and
after
accreditation). The
data
collected
were
then
be
consolidated
and
analyzed
for
the
purpose
of
formulating
a
recommendation
to
develop
a
system
of
International
Accreditation
for
the
hospital
health
care
delivery
f or
purposes
of
improving
medical
tourism. This
study
is
limited
to
the
study
of
the
improving
the
medical
tourism
industry
in
the
Philippines
through
the
development
of
a
system
of
international
accreditation
for
the
health
care
delivery
body
specifically
to
medical
tourism
providers
in
the
country.
This
study
also
considered
the
various
government
agencies
vis‐à‐vis
medical
tourism
development
in
the
Philippines.
The
study
was
also
limited
to
certain
private
hospitals
in
Metro
Manila
that
have
adopted
international
accreditation
in
their
medical
