Summary: | Asset Management is an important component in any organization. It helps improve spending of an organization by monitoring the acquired assets and helps lessen tax payments due to controlled acquisition of assets. Assets are classified as (1) Current and (2) Non-current or fixed assets. The study focuses on management of fixed assets, particularly office equipment, machine, furniture and fixtures and IT Assets. De La Salle Lipa (DLSL) is an academic institution in the CALABARZON area that looks at student’s learning from integrated school to college. Strategic use of the institution’s resources for their competitive advantage had been integrated to the institution’s long-term development plans. At present, there had been numerous implementations of information systems that support employee productivity. The study entitled “De La Salle Lipa Resource Management System – Fixed Assets” (DLSL RMS – Fixed Assets) hubs on the management of DLSL’s fixed asset resources. Winley’s asset lifecycle is incorporated to the conceptual framework of the study for accuracy of processes and maximizing the life of the asset. Incorporating the requisition module to Winley’s model made the system more operational to DLSL. The DLSL RMS – Fixed Assets has proven its worth to support the operations of DLSL in terms of asset requisition, maintenance, disposal and acquisition. It generates timey information through reports that causes end users to act based on their respective work responsibilities. Further improvement of the system is encouraged for the coming years. At the present time, the developed system is very fitting to the current needs of De La Salle Lipa. |
