The Energy Audit Study of Cavite State University was conducted at Don Severino Delas Alas campus, barangay Bancod Indang Cavite. The audit process is an organized approach to identify how well energy resources are used and wasted in the university, and to determine how this waste can be eliminated at a reasonable cost.During the process, data were gathered through visual walkthrough inspection, surveys, interviews to personnel-in- charge, and gathering data/documents pertaining to energy cost consumption. The major energy source used in the university was electricity for power, lighting, and water generation and distribution. Minor energy sources are petroleum products, diesel and gasoline used for transportation, hauling and other auxiliary services. The detailed energy audit study focuses on the 11 out of 50 existing functional facilities and buildings and was identified as cost centers. Instruments were installed for one-month period to determine the specific electrical energy used per cost center.Based on the study a considerable amount of electrical energy is wasted during noon breaks or lunch break (12:00 – 1:00 p.m.) wherein most facilities such as lighting and air-conditioning systems are left open at offices and classrooms even though there are no occupants.Energy savings concepts were identified to reduce electric bill such as demand limiting, proper maintenance and best operating practices. 2005-12-01T08:00:00Z text application/pdf https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_masteral/6074 https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/context/etd_masteral/article/13165/viewcontent/CDTG004021_F_Partial.pdf Master's Theses English Animo Repository Energy auditing--Philippines--Cavite State University Energy Systems Mechanical Engineering |
