This study has evaluated three existing road junction in Metro Manila – two interchanges and one major intersection, based on each of their pedestrian walkways and facilities. The evaluation procedures include the on-site measurements and taking note of the listed pedestrian factors, and on-site pedestrian assessments through pedestrian survey on-site. The on-site pedestrian assessments captured the satisfactory rating of each respondent based on the existing walkways and facilities of each study areas. During study site surveys, the vehicle-pedestrian conflicts have been observed and photographed. This study also investigated the planning stages of DPWH projects to further look into the roots of the lacking pedestrian facilities as well as the discontinuity of the pedestrian walkways in the study areas. Along with this, the experts from both the traffic/transport and highway engineers group have been also interviewed to determine the hierarchal rankings of important pedestrian facilities required to obtain an effective and continuous pedestrian walkways for interchanges and major road intersections. 2019-04-01T07:00:00Z text application/pdf https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_masteral/6331 https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/context/etd_masteral/article/13390/viewcontent/Final_Manuscript_Post_Defense_Revision_April_Final2.pdf Master's Theses English Animo Repository Pedestrian areas—Philippines Pedestrian facilities design—Philippines Civil Engineering
