Description
Summary:The problem of lengthy delay in court procedures is considered to be of common knowledge. The courts try to solve the problem thru efforts like the emphasis on pre-trial. The Legislature on the other hand tried to address the problem thru laws such as the Speedy Trial Act or R.A. 8493. The highest court of the land suggested timeframes to be followed by all lower courts embodied under the Benchbook. The lower court themselves audited their own performance to also address the situation and is indicated in the Management Audit of Regional Trial Courts of Makati City. The time frames determined was 9 months and 12 months respectively. A technique was then tried to be applied in the timeframes mentioned. This was done to solve the problem of high inventory level of court cases. The question of the appropriateness of JIT was delved into. Research was done and theoretical application of the technique was done. The result showed that JIT in it self is not suitable in addressing the problem and may not be entirely applicable. Determination of this is important in the facilitation of the smooth flow of court management.
