Since the study aimed at working out a development program for Augustinian school administrators, it employed a human resource development design. This design involved a descriptive survey of human resources. The study made use of a survey questionnaire, constructed by the researcher, to collect the data on Augustinian school administrators. The questionnaire consisted of four parts: Part I-Profile of Augustinian School Administrators, Part II-Managerial Needs of School Administrator, Part III- Factors Affecting Preparation for Administrative Position and Part IV- Administrator's Preference as to Development Program Format Components. The research subjects were administrators of the five Augustinian schools in the Province of Santo Nino de Cebu which included the University of San Agustin (Iloilo City), Colegio de San Agustin (Bacolod City), San Jose Parochial School (Iloilo City), Colegio de San Agustin (Binan, Laguna) and Colegio del Santo Nino (Cebu City). The study included all Augustinian Religious working in the schools and lay administrators holding positions as Deans, Principals and Registrars. Actual total population of the study included 45 Religious and 18 lay administrators (10 Deans, 4 Principals and 4 Registrars). The data gathered from the survey were tallied and tabulated. The statistical measures employed included frequency, percentage and mean. The administrators involved in the study, regardless of their present positions, highest educational attainments, or number of years in the administrative service, possess great as well as moderate needs, whether these needs be in any of the three management areas, namely, management process, human relations and personal qualities. The administrators were aware that they possess managerial needs as shown by their perception of these needs. They also recognize their need for training and development. The findings of the study also showed that the administrators need great improvement in the areas of management processes and personal qualities and only moderate improvement in the area of human relations. On the whole, the administrators only need moderate improvement considering that they have more moderate needs than great needs in the three management areas. A development program, if based on the needs assessment of the administrators, can be an effective tool for improving their managerial ability and, consequently, their managerial performance. 1987-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_masteral/30 Master's Theses English Animo Repository School administrators -- Training of Career development Educational Administration and Supervision Training and Development
