This test will serve as one of the screening instruments to discriminate qualified from non-qualified applicants based on their academic potentials. The development of the test was only confined to preparation of final form. This was accomplished through the following processes: 1. Development of Test Objectives 2. Preparation of Table of Specifications 3. Item writing and reviewing 4. Pre-test forms assembly 5. Pre-test administration 6. Pre-test data analysis and 7. Final form assembly. Data analysis of the final form yielded the following findings: 1. The SFSET has a good discrimination index which ranges from .30 to .78 with an overall rbis mean of .51. Examination of the subject area proficiency shows that Mathematics obtained the highest discrimination index (.54) and Science obtained the lowest (.46).2. The spread of test difficulty is from very difficult to very easy items (.09 - .89) and obtained an adequate mean difficulty of .47. English has a higher difficulty level of .43 whereas Mathematics obtained a lower difficulty level (xp = .53).3. Comparison of the difficulty and discrimination indices of pre-test and final form shows that the final form has a better spread of difficulty and better discrimination indices. 1987-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_masteral/37 Master's Theses English Animo Repository Educational Assessment, Evaluation, and Research Higher Education |
