Description
Summary:The purpose of undertaking this descriptive correlation study was to find out whether age, educational attainment, number of years in the religious life and number of years in the present work were correlated with religious satisfaction among the Dominican Sisters of the Trinity- Philippine Region. The subjects of the study were the total population of sixty-five (65) sisters who were assigned to the Philippines for the year 1988-1989. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire which was made up of two parts. The first part was for gathering the personal data. The second part was for assessing the religious satisfaction among the sisters. The instrument was sent to Davao where sufficient copies were made and administered to the respondents. The accomplished questionnaires were gathered by the researcher. To obtain the profile of the Dominican Sisters of the Trinity - Philippine Region according to age, educational attainment, number of years in the religious life and number of years in the present work, frequencies and percentages were computed from the sisters' personal data. The computed mean was used to measure the level of religious satisfaction in the three dimensions of religious life namely: community, spiritual and apostolic dimensions. To determine the relationships between religious satisfaction and age, educational attainment, number of years in religious life and number of years in the present work multiple correlation was employed. To find the predictors of religious satisfaction the multiple regression analysis was used. The following are the conclusions of the study: 1. In general, the sisters of the Dominicans of the Trinity have expressed that they were satisfied with their religious life. 2. The independent variables which were considered in the study were not significantly related with religious satisfaction. However, the major implication that emerged from the study is that the sisters who had higher educational attainment and who simultaneously assumed functions corresponding to their level of education tended to have higher satisfaction than those with lower educational level.
