This study presents theories underlying a guidance program, and cites actual guidance services being offered at De La Salle College Grade School Department. The guidance program described in this paper was planned according to the set-up and characteristics of De La Salle College's Grade School Department. The services and activities aimed to suit the needs of the student body, the faculty, and the administration. The specific roles in guidance of each staff member were outlined. A testing program, to determine the strengths and instructional needs of the student, was described. Group guidance activities, which brought about the interplay of social relationships that contribute to the total development of the child through curricular and co-curricular activities were enumerated. Also included in the program were counseling and interviewing services, which utilized the individual conference in analyzing the pupil's problem with the purpose to seek a solution. Other guidance activities such as Orientation, Placement, Pupil Inventory, Information Service, Vocational Guidance, Follow-up and Grade School Day were also drawn. It was concluded that elementary school guidance was more developmental rather than preventive, wherein the spiritual, social, mental, physical, emotional and educational needs of the child was emphasized. 1967-01-01T08:00:00Z text application/pdf https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_masteral/122 https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=6960&context=etd_masteral Master's Theses English Animo Repository Educational counseling--Philippines Elementary Education Student Counseling and Personnel Services |
