Lydia C. This study aims to identify the common problems of the adolescents in the five RVM schools in Eastern Samar. The study also serves as a basis for organizing a guidance program that would be useful in meeting the needs of the students. The Mooney Problem Check List Junior Form was administered to 791 second year and third year high school students at St. Joseph High School, Holy Cross Academy, Assumption High School, St. Anthony's Academy, and Our Lady of Fatima Academy during the school year 1975-1976. To find out the significant difference of the problems indicated, the chi-square test was used. Findings showed that in all the five schools, the three most predominant problems were self-centered concern money, work and the future and school. The result of the chi-square test revealed that there was a significant difference of student problems among the five RVM schools. In the light of the findings of the study, the objectives of the proposed guidance program should be specific, attainable, pertinent, and measurable. The guidance program should be able to redirect the students' attitudes and values that tend to retard the students' personal and social development. Also, the guidance services should be directed to assist the students in gainful employment after high school. It should be able to restructure the students' value system such that manual labor and vocational expertise would find acceptance among the students. The guidance program should give emphasis to the particular predominant problems expressed by the students. In the total guidance program, homeroom advisers should work hand in hand with the counselors. Classroom activities should be geared towards the same goals. 1976-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_masteral/379 Master's Theses English Animo Repository Adolescent psychology Educational counseling Counseling
