Esperanza, OSB This study aims to determine the predictive validity of Admission Test A and Admission Test C as entrance tests at the College department of St. Scholastica's College. Three groups of subjects with available data were used in this study. For the longitudinal study and prediction of academic performance, the subjects were 125 accepted college freshmen students of the school year 1972-73 and who graduated in March 1976. For the item analysis, the subjects were 447 college freshmen applicants of the school year 1976-77. In setting up norms for Admission Test A and Admission Test C, the accumulated data on 1,689 college freshmen applicants for 3 years, from 1974-75 to 1976-77, were used. The entrance test results of the accepted college freshmen students of the school year 1972-73 on Admission test A and Admission Test C, administered by the guidance personnel, were obtained from the records of the guidance office. The QPAs and English grades of the same subjects were secured from the registrar's office. For item analysis, the Admission test A answer sheets of the college freshman applicants of the school year 1976-77 were arranged in numerical order from the highest to the lowest score based on the raw scores of the subjects. A significant relationship was found between the criterion and each of the predictor variables. Admission test C was a better predictor than Admission test A, and Admission test C correlated best with English QPA. Also, a marked relationship existed between Admission tests A and C Both tests showed stable predictive validity and thus, were useful predictors of academic performance. Local norms for both tests were developed for the incoming freshmen of St. Scholastica's College. 1976-10-01T07:00:00Z text application/pdf https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_masteral/392 https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=7230&context=etd_masteral Master's Theses English Animo Repository St Scholastica's College (Philippines)--Entrance examinations Universities and colleges--Entrance examinations Education Educational Assessment, Evaluation, and Research
