This study aims to explore the need for, and the feasibility of, setting up a functional mobile guidance unit which will serve the Philippine Province of the Daughters of Charity. It also aims to propose the nature, composition, and functions of this guidance unit. A descriptive normative research survey was conducted among 462 Daughters of Charity in 37 houses. Three main tools were used in gathering data, namely, the Sixteen Personality Factors (PF) Questionnaire, the Personal Orientation Inventory (POI), and a questionnaire. The profile of the Daughters of Charity on the 16 PF showed average performance on most factors except on factors measuring desurgency. The POI scales revealed a below average performance as compared to the adult norm of the American population on which the instrument was standardized. Comparison of group profiles on the 16 PF revealed marked significant differences in the personality makeup of the respondents owing to the factors of age and work engaged in. Also on the POI scales, the highest self-actualization was consistently exhibited by the respondents belonging to the age level of 21-30 years, and the sisters with college and post-graduate degrees, while the lowest performance was consistently exhibited by the undergraduate group and those assigned to domestic services. The 16 personality factors and the POI scales showed significant positive relationships. It was concluded that the factors which called for the establishment of a mobile guidance program in the Philippine Province of the Daughters of Charity included : the mobile lifestyle of the Daughters of Charity, a more serious evaluation of candidates to the religious life, and the desire to ensure quality formation of the Daughters of Charity. The proposed mobile guidance unit would function under the office of the Provincial Vocation Directress who is immediately responsible to the Sister Visitatrix of the Province. The specific services which the proposed program could offer were : information service, individual analysis service which included testing, placement service, counseling interviews, follow-up, and evaluation services. 1975-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_masteral/396 Master's Theses English Animo Repository Educational counseling Counseling
