Natividad A school or institution may be prestigious in a city or province, but it does not mean that it is immune from human-relation problems. The negative attitudes and values of the students call for an evaluation of the present school climate. This study, then, is an attempt to discover the actual situation existing among the students and teachers in the high school. It attempts to perceive the human relationships between the fourth year students and teachers of St. Agnes Academy, Legaspi City. Involved are 126 female seniors and the nine teachers handling the classes of the fourth year. The researcher wants to know the existing climate of harmonious student-teacher-relationship at present and what should be the ideal student-teacher-relationship expected by both seniors and teachers. Furthermore, the inquiry is seeking how trust, openness, respect, acceptance, understanding, sensitivity to the needs of others and communication affect the academic performance of the students. The instrument used in this study is a devised student-teacher-relationship questionnaire, which aims at gathering perceptions on attitudes, values, behavior, performance and school climate. By means of an appropriate statistical treatment: the Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient and t-test, the researcher then determines whether there is significance in the present student-teacher-relationship and the achievement of students. 1977-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_masteral/429 Master's Theses English Animo Repository Teacher-student relationships St. Agnes Academy (Philippines) Education |
