This study employed the descriptive method of research using survey questionnaires in gathering data. The respondents in the survey were 100 freshmen student interns and 25 teachers of Perpetual Help College School of Nursing during the second semester of school year 1976-1977. These comprise 33.33% of the freshmen student interns and 65.78% of the teachers. Data collected from the Students' Questionnaires and Teachers' Questionnaires were tabulated in frequencies and then converted into percentages and finally arranged in ranks. From the findings of the survey, the following conclusions were drawn : 1. The currently felt needs of the freshmen nursing interns at Perpetual Help College, School of Nursing were ranked as follows : a. Studies b. Community Life c. Social Psychological Relation d. Vocation e. Discipline f. Finances g. Health h. Personal Psychological Relation i. Sex and morals 2. Ninety-two percent of the students were willing to take advantage of the Group Counseling Program. 3. Based on their currently felt needs these topics and activities for the group counseling sessions were to be utilized as follows : a. First Names, First Impressions b. Getting Acquainted Triads c. Who Am I ? A Cocktail Mix d. Listening Triads e. Dyadic Encounter f. Giving and Receiving Help g. Group Conversation h. Developing Group Commitment i. Management of Stress j. Studies k. Community Life l. Life Planning m. Evaluation 4. Evaluation in the form of checklist and questionnaire were to be given after the 12 sessions. 5. The activities that could be employed to introduce the teachers to the group counseling program were as follows : a. Getting Acquainted Triads b. Who Am I ? A Cocktail Mix c. New Names d. Dyadic Encounter e. Giving and Receiving Help f. Group Conversation g. Developing Group Commitment h. Trust Walk i. Listening Triads j. New Ways of Behaving k. Community Life l. Lesson Planning m.
