Several questionnaires, library research and consultation with Indonesian colleagues were utilized to gather the data for the study. Three sets of questionnaires were used to measure the extent and level of guidance awareness among the teachers, pupils and parents. The questionnaires were adopted from Peters & Schertzer (1969), Widjaya (1975), Kapunan (1966) and Madali et al (1967) and modified to suit the conditions in Oinlasi parochial schools. The subjects included the Grade VI pupils, teachers and parents from the nine parochial schools in Oinlasi Parish. Conclusions drawn were : 1. With regards to the extent of guidance awareness among the respondents, the teachers in Oinlasi Parochial Schools were not fully aware of their responsibilities in guiding and assisting the pupils in their personal growth and development the parents do not cooperate fully with the teachers and that the pupils expressed their need for guidance in specific problem areas as peers, teachers and parents, and study habits. 2. Incidental guidance services which existed in the schools were in the form of conferences, giving advices and consultations during or outside of homeroom period. 3. Factors such as the willingness of the pupils to be guided by their teachers in school and personal problems, the willingness of the teachers to participate in the guidance program to help the pupils, and the eagerness of the parents to cooperate with the teachers in guiding their children, indicated the need to establish an organized guidance program in the Oinlasi Parochial Schools. 4. The guidance program that was seen workable in Oinlasi Parochial Schools was one organized through a committee that will supervise a guidance teacher from each school. 5. The guidance services that seemed necessary were the individual inventory services, the orientation and information services, the counseling Service, and the Placement and Follow-u 1977-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_masteral/479 Master's Theses English Animo Repository Educational counseling Oinlasi Parochial Schools (Indonesia) Counseling Training and Development
