It attempts to answer the following questions: 1) What are the respondents' personal reactions to religious vocation? 2) What are their concepts of familial reaction to religious life? 3) What are their concepts of a friends' reaction to religious life? 4) What are the things they know and the things they don't know about religious life? 5)What motivates or hinders them from committing themselves to religious life? This survey covers thirteen schools in southern Quezon. Of this number, five were catholic high schools, three non-sectarian, two provincial public high schools and three colleges representing catholic, non-sectarian and public colleges. Seven hundred twenty five respondents were selected from approximately one thousand four hundred sixty fourth year high school and first and second year in college. These respondents were selected by simple random sampling. The researcher utilized in her study the survey method by the use of a Vocational Check List to obtain the concepts of girls about religious vocation. The checklist originally constructed by Sister de Lourdes McMahon, for American girls, was also adapted by Sister Andrea Casuso, FMM, with some modifications. The present researcher adapted it also with some modification to fit her subjects which were the students in the province of Quezon. Based on the findings, the responses of the seven hundred and twenty five girls were encouraging. It revealed the goodwill of the students in Southern Quezon proved to value religious life no because of the sacrifice involved but because of its essence that is total commitment of self. The choice of career or vocation of the respondent was greatly affected and influence by parental and family reactions toward it. The students from non-sectarian school manifested less knowledge on religious life although the catholic group manifested the insufficiency on this regard. 1979-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_masteral/701 Master's Theses English Animo Repository Vocation (in religious orders, congregations, etc.), Our Lady of the Angels Academy (Philippines)--Faculty Counseling Religious Education |
