Summary:The homeroom guidance program in the University of Saint Anthony is primarily aimed to help and assist students in their needs while they were in their years of formal education. It is a one-hour-period per week program devoted for guidance activities which will help students developed their personality and stimulate leadership awareness and career consciousness. This study is an attempt to intensify the existing homeroom guidance program of the high school department of the University of Saint Anthony in Iriga City and to modify and propose an in-service training program. Specifically the following questions were answered. 1. What is the perception of teachers on the following aspects of the homeroom guidance program? a. Homeroom program facilitation b. Homeroom organization c. Homeroom techniques used d. Problems encountered in homeroom guidance management. 2. What is the perception of Students on the following aspects of the homeroom guidance program? a. Homeroom organization b. Homeroom topics c. Homeroom program facilitation 3. What qualities have the students identified for the key persons to confide their problems? 4. What modifications can be done to improve the homeroom guidance program of the University? 5. What in-service training program will prepare the teachers to effectively implement the homeroom guidance program? The study is important for it provides the needed information to further support the processes of self-understanding, self-awareness, and self-reliance in terms of student's internal and reference system. This research is expected to provide data in areas of homeroom and technical know-how that may serve to guide homeroom advisers in reprogramming the homeroom activities to suit the student's needs. The overall findings will help the guidance counselor to start a guidance program which will offer the services embracing not only the high school but also all the departments of the university.
